The Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners are considering the creation of a local Board of Appeals whose main responsibility would be to consider petitioners questioning the administration or enforcement of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC).
The UCC is the building code adopted by the Township.
Qualifications for membership on the proposed Board are listed below:
The Board of Appeals would consist of five members, one from each of the following professions or disciplines:
- Registered design professional who is a registered architect; or a builder or superintendent of building construction with at least ten years’ experience, five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.
- Registered design professional with structural engineering or architectural experience.
- Registered design professional with mechanical or plumbing engineering experience; or a mechanical or plumbing contractor with at least ten years’ experience, five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.
- Registered design professional with electrical engineering experience; or an electrical contractor with at least ten years’ experience, five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.
- Registered design professional with fire protection engineering experience; or a fire protection contractor with at least ten years’ experience, five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.
